Executive Team

Clint Carnell
Chief Executive Officer
Clint has served as Chief Executive Officer for The HydraFacial Company since December 2016, bringing a broad and deep experience in non-invasive aesthetics and skin health. Clint championed the rebranding of the company in 2017 and drove the company strategy and culture shift that has resulted in explosive revenue growth and rapidly growing global recognition. In 2000, he founded and later successfully sold Charleston Renal Care, a chain of dialysis centers to DaVita. He was instrumental in the development of LASIK during the early 2000’s as head of surgical for Bausch + Lomb, contributing to the rapid growth of corporate refractive chains. Clint brought his skills to non-invasive aesthetics, joining Thermage in 2005 where he was Chief Operating Officer and helped take the company public in 2006. Later named Solta Medical, the brands Thermage, Fraxel and Clear + Brilliant are still globally recognized by consumers and physicians alike. He is also Chairman of OrangeTwist Brands.
Liyuan Woo
Chief Financial Officer
Liyuan joined the HydraFacial Company in September 2020 as EVP, Chief Financial Officer. Liyuan has more than 23 years of experience building and creating infrastructure to enable aggressive global scaling, while promoting profitability. Prior to The HydraFacial Company, Ms. Woo was the COO & CFO of The VOID, a highly rated VR brand introducing consumers to fully immersive, location-based, hyper-reality experiences. Throughout her career, Ms. Woo provided leadership to both growth oriented and turnaround situations. Prior to the VOID, Liyuan was the EVP, CFO at SharkNinja, a growth oriented multi-billion dollar consumer electronic product portfolio category creator focused on innovation and marketing. At SharkNinja, she was in charge of finance, capital raising and allocation, legal and strategic initiatives involving global expansion and M&A. Previously, Liyuan, as a Director of Alix Partners, acted as CFO during Gymboree Group’s multi-billion dollar restructuring process. Additionally, she teamed up with other executive members in establishing the strategic plan, supply chain hub in Asia, and international expansion. Prior to that, she was the CFO of bebe stores, a publicly traded global multi-channel fashion brand. During her 6 years with bebe, Liyuan was responsible for all aspects of finance and operations. Liyuan started her career with the consulting firm Deloitte in its Mergers and Acquisitions Transaction Services and Financial Advisory functions. During her 13 years with Deloitte, she provided financial advisory services to public and private companies for M&A transactions, IPOs and growth initiatives.
Jwala Karnik, MD
EVP of Global Strategy & Partnerships
Jwala joined as the EVP of Global Strategy & Partnerships in April 2021, although she has been an advisor to HydraFacial since 2017. Prior to joining HydraFacial, she served in operational and strategic roles within aesthetics for over 14 years working with large and small companies and was most recently the Chief Medical Officer for Suneva Medical. She was previously an entrepreneur-in-residence with Versant Ventures, focused in aesthetics, and was a leader in McKinsey & Company’s West Coast Healthcare Practice. She completed her medical fellowship training at UCSF, received her MD from University of California San Diego, and a BA from UC Berkeley.
Ben Baum
Chief Experience Officer
Prior to joining The HydraFacial Company, he served as Executive Vice President of Marketing, Growth and Ecommerce for plus-size women’s fashion retailer Torrid through their IPO. Before joining Torrid, Mr. Baum held Chief Customer Experience Officer and Chief Digital Officer roles at Tailored Brands, parent of Men’s Wearhouse as well as Jos. A. Bank and Bebe respectively. He previously led shopping business development for Google. Mr. Baum served in a variety of apparel merchandising and corporate strategy roles with Target and began his career at the Boston Consulting Group. He graduated from Harvard Law School and Princeton University with Honors.
Indra Pamamull
President of APAC
Indra joined HydraFacial as President of APAC in August 2021 and oversees the growth and execution of the APAC region. With over two decades in beauty across skin care, fragrance and color cosmetics, Mrs. Pamamull has executed successful brand strategies to deliver international sales growth and profit objectives for the world’s leading prestige companies. Prior to joining HydraFacial, Mrs. Pamamull held the role of General Manager Asia Pacific at LVMH Moet and Hennessy’s Kendo Brands. In this role, she grew the business with significant growth over a four year period, established offices in Singapore and Australia, and managed a portfolio of brands which included Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, Ole Henriksen Skin Care, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Bite Beauty and Kat Von D. She also held multiple senior roles at Estee Lauder Companies, where she oversaw 12 countries across Asia Pacific as the Regional Director. She also led BeautyBank UK, which is Estee Lauder’s Innovation Hub and think tank.
Paul Bokota
Vice President & General Counsel
Mr. Bokota has served as HydraFacial’s VP & General Counsel since November 2020. Mr. Bokota has over 28 years of legal experience. He manages HydraFacial’s legal team and oversees all aspects of the Company’s global legal efforts. Prior to joining HydraFacial, Mr. Bokota worked for six years as the Division General Counsel for Spectrum Brands, Inc, managing global legal affairs for its Hardware & Home Improvement division. Spectrum Brands is a $3.5 B publicly traded consumer products company. Mr. Bokota has held various senior legal positions for public and privately held global companies. Prior to his in-house legal career, Mr. Bokota was a commercial litigator for 13 years, litigating and trying a wide variety of cases in state and federal court. Mr. Bokota received his A.B. magna cum laude in Government from Harvard University and his J.D. magna cum laude from Indiana University.
Deborah Rodriguez
Chief Talent Officer
Deb joined The HydraFacial Company as Chief Human Resources Officer in February 2017, and leads both the Customer Education and Human Resources teams. In the first 18 months with the company, she and her team have been responsible for hiring and onboarding over 300 employees, more than doubling the size of the organization. Deb brings more than 20 years of experience as a global talent leader for Fortune 500, mid-sized and start-up organizations, holding senior leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, Allergan, GE Capital, Alliance Healthcare Services and Atlantic Richfield (ARCO). She has extensive experience in change management, culture development, organizational design & leadership development, strategic planning, and executive coaching. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development, is a Six-Sigma Executive Black Belt and is a certified executive leadership coach.
Dan Watson
EVP, Sales
Dan has served as EVP of Sales for US and Canada since March 2017, using his 34 years of medical device sales experience to drive our capital sales teams and business development teams in both the medical, non-medical and corporate channels. Prior to joining HydraFacial, Dan was the VP of Sales at Stryker Spine, where he developed and executed the Sales strategy to hit annual revenue and Op Income targets. Dan has also held various senior sales management positions for companies such as Sherwood Medical, Ethicon EndoSurgery, CR Bard, SpineTech, Oratec, and Smith and Nephew.
Stephan Becker
President of EMEA
Stephan joined HydraFacial as President of EMEA in October 2021 and oversees the growth and execution of the EMEA region. With over two decades of experience expanding brands throughout the beauty, lifestyle and healthcare categories, Mr. Becker has a strong track record of growing market share and achieving stellar sales and profit results. Prior to joining HydraFacial, Mr. Becker served as General Manager DACH and the Vice President of Global Marketing at Kao Group, an international cosmetics, beauty and hair care company. Mr. Becker also has led in senior roles at leading beauty and consumer companies, such as COTY, where he implemented a successful turnaround strategy for the Color Cosmetics Category and P&G, where he developed the commercial structure via distributors in over 20 countries.
